Globe trotter
Travel. Everybody wants to travel. But how many people travel because they love it? Most people might travel to take a break from their work, or just to go hang out with friends at a new place. However, many people love traveling and want to go around the world because it’s their passion. I had recently been to the United States of America. Soon after, I realized my love for travel. I want to travel as much as I can and know more about the world. It is indeed beguiling to meet different people from around the world when you travel to different countries.
Washington, D.C.
The capital is approximately 37 minutes by drive from Baltimore/ Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. In April, it was pretty cold and damp. If you’re thinking about visiting DC anytime soon, then don’t miss the awe-striking Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History. And who would want to miss out on taking a look at the White House which was once called The President’s palace or the President’s House. The Washington Memorial is clearly visible from The Capitol Building. Don’t forget to drop by at the shops near the White House. They’re pretty cool. You’ll see posters and figures which troll Trump! A day spent at the museum was one that was worth it! It was something original, novel, and educating.
New York
The city of skyscrapers😍. Traveling from Washington to NYC by train was the best experience and that will stay with me forever. New York is beaming with lights and crowded with people from all over the world. Each building seems to be taller than the other. However, NY seemed to be too concrete for me. There were more buildings and less foliage.
Nevertheless, I couldn’t stop admiring the city and the buildings. The view from Brooklyn Bridge was exceptional. A peculiar sight here was that people had attached locks to the railings of the bridge either in memory of their loved ones or for their loved ones. It was one of the striking features of New York which was memorable.
The Empire state building has 102 floors and it is situated at such a point, from where every part of the city is visible. My eyes were glued to this building and the spectacular view from here.
The lady holding the torch is one such statue that people come to take a glimpse of, from all over the world. This was one such place on my list that I had to visit. I just couldn’t miss this one. Who wants to miss visiting the Statue of Liberty once they’ve arrived in NYC?
I had seen NYC in Hollywood movies all my life but it was a dream come true and felt surreal to be there. Never had I imagined that I would have a chance to visit The Big Apple.
One such incomparable place I had been to in NY was the World Trade Center. It has 104 floors and is the tallest building there. Beside this, is the 9/11 memorial built in honor of the people who died at the 9/11 attack.
I hope you all had a good time reading this. I would recommend travel lovers to go to New York at least once. It is something you don’t want to miss just like you wouldn’t want to miss a football or a cricket match. Also if you don’t want “FOMO” go to New York!!!
