Am I Made For Relationships?
I’m unsure if that’s the correct way to put it, but it’s a valid question.
You can forget holding hands. I was never one for talking to a guy with an open mind, or even holding a conversation with him for more than 20 minutes. Was I awkward at having conversations? Did I not have the “balls” to talk to a guy? Was I short of words while talking? Well, it’s none of that. Growing up, I never had a lot of guy friends, and the ones I spoke to, didn’t go on to be long-term friends.
To this day, my high school best mate tells me she could’ve never spoken to me about what she was going through back in school because I wouldn’t look at it from a different perspective.
Jump to 2022, after studying in an all-girls’ college for almost five years, something had to change, no? Please tell me you’re thinking what I’m thinking…

I can’t tell you for sure if I found my yellow umbrella. But as Ted also says, “If you’re looking for the word that means caring about someone beyond all rationality and wanting them to have everything they want, no matter how much it destroys you, it’s love.” I found it. I found that word, somewhere, in every interaction, after every date, every fight, and in all those times when we thought it ended there.
I literally travelled a thousand kilometers over the years with stories, flowers, gifts, food, and tons of love. I wasn’t ready to lend a ear to my friend’s first kiss and here I am eight years later, loving someone so unconditionally.
I may not be the most sought-after girl, but one thing’s for sure. I did ace my guy game (if that’s what I can call it, haha), and you bet I have some amazing guy friends. Something had to change! (Duh…me)
I guess I wouldn’t be that bad at relationships…I’ll definitely get you flowers ;)
